Remember that scene in Happy Gilmore when he shows up to play his first golf tournament and says “I’m a hockey player but I’m playing golf today”? Well, that’s how Chan Redfield describes his musical life. Chan Redfield is a creature of the dark synth-based music often heard in John Carpenter films but “…since the dark stuff doesn’t always pay the bills” he considers his “day job” to be writing happy music for TV and Commercials for brands such as Canon Cameras, Paul Mitchell, Budweiser, NASCAR, Nickelodeon, McDonald’s, Paul Mitchell, Skullcandy and more. When composing for film, he truly showcases his talents as he gently blends hints of the past with flashes of the future, mixing dark with light and ease with tension as he creates the perfect emotional backdrop for any given scene. Chan also has a wide variety of musical endeavors including live and recording acts: Wetlab (featuring Jim Adkins of Jimmy Eat World), Lunawolf (Featuring Atlantic recording artist Jim Wilcox) and Harper and The Moths.
